Button Loopy

If you were looking for me a couple of nights ago, you would have found me at my sewing machine making dozens of button loops and little ribbon squares to cover them for the bishop's sticharion I was making (a sticharion is like a tunic.) Seriously I was up until 1AM making this thing because of all of the those little button loops. I generally hate doing repetitive tedious things like that, but a job is a job. Here are some pictures:

Here is the same thing applied to a sakkos:
And here is a picture of my dog Basil because he is just so damn cute:

BTW does anyone have any recommendations on digital cameras? I would need one that would do well in a dark dance club. I am looking to spend no more than $300.

Givenchy

I really can't get the latest Givenchy Couture Collection out of my head. It was so amazing. It reminds me of the Greek Orthodox vestments I sew. I have really been wanting to do another collection (I haven't done one in two or three years) and I have it in my head that I want to construct the entire collection only using Greek Orthodox vestment making techniques. This means I could not use any modern finishing techniques, like zippers. I keep thinking that this might be impossible but looking at the Givenchy collection inspired me to maybe give it a try. It might be a long time coming though.
